First Shows Announced

The Cut

Cape Ann’s own Willie Alexander is set to host his birthday party with some well-known friends for the opening night of the new music room at The Cut, Gloucester’s newest entertainment venue on January 13th.

The Cut is a 22,000 square foot facility featuring a multi-purpose entertainment venue (500 general admission, 300 seated), a restaurant (seating 180) which opens today and also houses the Bang-A-Song recording and rehearsal studios.

Tom Clark, concert & event manager for The Cut said, “I am grateful and excited to be part of a team committed to bringing national, regional and local performing artists to Gloucester, MA. Being an independent music venue is in lock step with the spirit of our community. This independence will be reflected in the diversity of musical acts presented.”

“From the artists’ perspective, The Cut will be a place to be heard,” continued Clark. “Tuesday could be a rising Nashville talent; Wednesday might be a popular local band opening for a reggae superstar, and Friday, an arena level performer who wants the intimacy of connecting with fans at our ocean view venue. We appreciate all the support we have received from Cape Ann and are privileged to be one of the final acts of the Gloucester 400-year anniversary celebration.”

“You can expect a great mix of music at The Cut,” said Randi Millman, The Cut’s national talent buyer. "Blues, folk, soul, and world artists are already represented in our early bookings. My goal is for our calendar to always feature artists that will make you wonder how a specific band is playing an intimate room...in the heart of Gloucester. It's quite unique to have such an enthusiastic response from booking agents across the country, considering the music venue space is still under construction."

Currently on sale at The Cut are The Brother Brothers January 16th; Vapors of Morphine January 27th; A Band Of Killers featuring Tim Gearan and Johnny Trama February 2nd, Sunny War & Chris Pierce February 22nd and winner of the 2021 Blues Music Award for B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year, Shemekia Copeland March 16th.

Shows going on sale soon include singer-songwriter Richard Thompson on April 5th and blues guitarist, singer and former member of John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers, Coco Montoya on April 21st.
