(Gloucester, MA - November 25, 2024) The Cut, the North Shore’s newest and most versatile entertainment venue and restaurant, has been named the 2024 New Member of the Year by the North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau (NBCVB).
Tom O’Grady, Managing Director of The Cut was presented with the award by John Orlando of Harborview Inn and Chairman of the Board of NBCVB at a ceremony at The Beauport Hotel earlier this month. O’Grady also received citations from Congressman Seth Moulton, Governor Maura Healy and the Massachusetts State Senate, which was presented in person by Senator Bruce Tarr.
Tobin Dominick of Cape Ann Marina and Mile Marker One, along with Michael DeKoster from Maritime Gloucester and Discover Gloucester nominated The Cut for the New Member Award. At the presentation, Dominick said “The Cut has, in a short time, established itself as a premier destination—a place where music, culture, and culinary excellence meet, creating an atmosphere like no other.
"What the talented team at THE CUT have built here is more than a music venue,” she continued. “It’s a space that draws people in with its soul and authenticity, thanks to its state-of-the-art stage and recording studio, where local and top-tier artists can capture their sound in an intimate and inspiring environment. This isn’t just a venue; it’s a hub for creativity, a launching pad for new talent, and a community space that celebrates music, culture, food, and the arts.”
The Cut, named for the bridge that spans the short narrow channel between Gloucester’s Outer Harbor and the Annisquam River, is a multi-purpose entertainment venue and restaurant at 177 Main Street in downtown Gloucester, MA. It is a 22,000 square foot facility, featuring a restaurant (capacity 150), a flexible concert space (500 general admission, 300 seated), and rehearsal and recording studios.
“When we opened a year ago, we conceived of a facility that can serve many purposes to our community. You can come to The Cut Live and see a great show from top touring national acts like American Authors, Gang of Four, and Los Lobos to home grown musicians like Willy Alexander and Buffalo Tom,” said O’Grady. “We’re a resource to the community and with Chef Justus Dunton heading The Kitchen @ The Cut, we will be a top destination for diners on the North Shore and we will be the premiere place to host your functions from weddings to holiday parties.”
